BioSince tigernach has called me out, I've decided to take a few minutes to update my long overdue JL account.
Some random facts from 1 of 6,000,000 humans on this earth: For a career I'm a Quality Assurance Specialist currently working at a Tacoma based investment firm. I love the work, but it's a very boring conversation piece at parties. Developers get all the glory. QA guys make sure computer code doesn't bring society to its knees.
For a hobby I collect comic books. I'm a DC and Image guy, and think Starman by James Robinson is the finest comic ever written. I'm working on piecing together a Starman costume, but life seems to get in the way of my completing it. I volunteer each year at the Emerald City Comicon which is run by my friends at The Comic Stop.
I am an HP Lovecraft whore and love reading his works. This of course means by extension I play Call of Cthulhu (both the RPG and CCG), Arkham Horror, Munchkin Cthulhu, and attend the Lovecraft film festival in Portland, OR. I own multiple stuffed Cthulhu dolls. One is almost 3 feet tall, hence my LJ name of giantcthulhu. My Mini Cooper S Convertible is decked out in a homage to him with a Cthulhu Jesus fish, Arkham University Alumni license frame, and 'Rlyeh' as my personalized plate. Amazingly it doesn't attract the women as much as you think it would.
Other pursuits that keep me busy are DIY projects around the house, gardening, landscaping, and fighting animal abuse. I have two cats, one rat, and one guinea pig. All but one were rescued from the Tacoma Humane Society. And I'm married to my lovely wife Susan -- who the animals adore much more than me. It must be that mothering instinct in her.
